Barbara

Barbara has been interested in art since she was at school, and remembers being criticised by her A level art teacher as she opted to use a palette knife for her exam painting. She was told the painting had taken far too long to dry. She is now using the same technique for her paintings!

Whilst not pursuing art as a career Barbara has always found herself leaning towards parts of her life where she can let her creativity show, whether in work or family life. It was following her retirement and a period of struggling with anxiety that she found solace in art.

Picking up paintbrushes and getting the support of other artists in classes helped on the road to recovery and allowed her to enjoy herself, doing something which now gives great pleasure and satisfaction and others also enjoy her work.

Barbara loves expressing herself in landscapes where she can show the intricate details she sees in nature, which she now takes great pleasure in detailing with a palette knife and paints that dry far more quickly these days!
Barbara has been commissioned for family portraits and animal portraits in charcoal. They have all been overjoyed with the results. Painting has become her release and she hopes others continue to enjoy her work.
